The plot of Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut’s Rangoon

The director has revealed the plot of his most ambitious film till date, read on!

It is an established fact that National Award winning filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is a master story teller. He along with Shahid Kapoor wove magic on the big screen with Haider. We are still reeling from the after-effects of power packed performances of Shahid, Tabu and Kay Kay Menon among others. Now, we can’t wait to watch Vishal’s next venture Rangoon. The starcast sure looks promising and we are sure that Vishal will recreate his magic, this time too!
The master director spoke to a leading daily about the plot of the film and he divulged a few details about the story line. The film is set against the backdrop of World War II confirming this, Vishal told the daily, “Rangoon is a classic tale that will have the musical charm of Moulin Rouge, the romance of Casablanca and the intensity and drama of Saving Private Ryan. Like Saving Private Ryan, Rangoon too is set against the backdrop of World War II.”

The film will have a huge budget and the makers have promised to leave no stone unturned to give the viewer authentic feel and experience of the bygone era. Vishal has roped in writers of international acclaim like Matthew Robbins, who worked with Steven Spielberg on The Sugarland Express (1974) and Sabrina Dhawan who co-wrote the iconic Monsoon Wedding with Mira Nair.
By the looks of it, this film sure looks a treat to both, mind and soul!
